Me. Picture-taker, professional
amaturic writer.
Woman-child—girl—caught
between fantasy and life.
Don’t know enough, except
For words on my tongue, kiss on
my lips,
Eyes high above
Me. Not real-world affected,
Not man-made, not stary-eyed.
Contradictions define life
Though undefined.
Life is shaded with grey,
Mother’s words find
Me. But I like color:
Shadow-blue forest
Green frothy sea,
Streaky sunrising red
And deep velvet sky.
I take them along,
Bottled up in photo-lens
Vibrance saved for inspiration
-shunned moments of
Me. Girls can be girls well into old
age,
But boys retire into guys,
Or worse yet,
Men wanting to take charge,
Claim the world as their own,
Play king or cop.
But I’m a girl, fighting,
Against what I’ve been told.
Fusing together life, just to find
Me.
